1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to the DailyBetter app and to support communications related to it.
DailyBetter is provided by Italo Bandeira, under the iFlag brand. For the data processing we are responsible for, we act as the controller under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Lei nº 13.709/2018, "LGPD").
Contact and data rights channel: iflagdev@gmail.com.
2. What data is processed
| Flow | Data involved | Where it is kept |
|---|---|---|
| Local journal | Mood, notes and optional details such as activities, sleep and energy. | On your device. iFlag does not receive this content during normal use of the app. It may be included in Android's automatic backup to your Google Account, if enabled. |
| Backup | A JSON file with your mood entries, notes, activities, sleep, energy, weather, symptoms, achievements and challenges. | First in a temporary area on the device; then only at the destination you choose in the Android share sheet, such as Google Drive. |
| Ads | Advertising or app identifiers, IP address, device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostic or fraud-prevention data, depending on Google AdMob's configuration. | May be processed by Google and by advertising partners involved in delivering the ad. |
| Support | Your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message. | In the mailbox and the systems needed to answer your request. |
Don't email private journal content unless it's needed to help you. If you choose to attach a backup or a screenshot when asking for support, we will use it only to look into and answer your request.
3. How and why we use data
Where processing is under our responsibility, we use information only to:
- provide the features you use in the app, including creating, editing and viewing your entries locally;
- create the backup file, open the Android share options and import a file you select;
- show ads, measure their delivery and fight fraud or misuse;
- answer support, privacy or data rights requests;
- comply with legal obligations and protect rights when necessary.
Legal bases may include performing the Terms of Use and procedures you request, consent where required, legitimate interest with respect for your rights, compliance with legal obligations and the regular exercise of rights.
iFlag does not use your journal content to personalize ads. We also don't sell your entries or share them with advertisers.
4. Google Drive, ads and other services
Backup file and Google Drive
Backup is optional. DailyBetter creates a JSON file and opens the Android share options. The app does not sign in to your Google Account, does not receive your password and does not request direct access to your Drive. The file is only sent to Google Drive if you select that destination.
The file may contain personal and sensitive information you logged. DailyBetter does not add an extra layer of encryption to it. Keep it somewhere you trust and avoid sharing it with people or services that shouldn't access your journal.
If you choose Drive, the upload and storage are handled by Android and Google services and are subject to your Google Account settings and to the Google Privacy Policy.
Android automatic backup
Android may include DailyBetter's data, such as your journal and preferences, in Google's automatic backup when that feature is turned on for the device. This backup is made by the Android system in your Google Account, without access by iFlag and without signing in to the app, and is used to restore the app when you set up a new device or reinstall it. You can turn this feature on or off in Android's backup settings. It follows Google's rules and the Google Privacy Policy.
Ads
DailyBetter uses Google AdMob to show banner and rewarded ads. The app requests non-personalized ads and does not send the SDK your journal content, mood, notes, sleep, activities, symptoms or user-provided identifiers. Google and, where applicable, its partners may still use technologies such as app or advertising identifiers, IP address and device signals to deliver ads, limit repetition, produce reports and prevent fraud.
Where required, the app shows Google's consent flow before requesting ads and gives access to the applicable privacy options. You can also review your preferences in Google My Ad Center and in Android's privacy or ads settings.

International transfers
Google and its providers may process data in other countries. In those cases, processing is subject to the measures and safeguards described by the respective provider and to applicable data protection rules.
5. How long data is kept
- Local entries: stay on the device until you delete them, clear the app's data or uninstall the app, according to the operating system's behavior.
- Backup files: the temporary copy is created to allow sharing; the copy saved at your chosen destination stays there until you delete it or according to that service's rules.
- Ad data: kept by the providers under their policies, settings and legal obligations.
- Support messages: kept as long as needed to resolve the request and, where applicable, to meet obligations or protect rights.
Because your journal is stored locally, iFlag cannot remotely delete entries that exist only on your device or files you saved in third-party services. The copy made by Android's automatic backup is managed in your Google Account and device settings.
6. Your choices and rights
Under the LGPD and as applicable to the processing, you can request confirmation and access, correction, anonymization, blocking or deletion, portability, information about sharing, review of automated decisions, objection, withdrawal of consent and information about the consequences of not consenting. You may also have similar rights under the laws of your country.
You can also act directly:
- edit or delete entries in the app;
- clear the app's local data in Android settings;
- manage or delete the backup file in Google Drive or any other destination you chose;
- turn off Android's automatic backup or delete the copy in your Google Account settings;
- adjust ad preferences in Android and in the controls Google provides.
For data under our control, send your request to iflagdev@gmail.com. We may ask for minimal information to confirm your identity and protect your data. Exercising your rights is free of charge.
7. Security and your part
We take technical and administrative measures appropriate to the risks of the service. Even so, no device, transmission or storage system is completely immune to incidents.
Since your entries stay on the device, we recommend using a screen lock, keeping your system up to date and backing up when you see fit. The security of your Google Account also depends on the protections you choose, such as a strong password and 2-step verification.
8. Children and teens
DailyBetter is not specifically directed at children. Use by children and teens must follow applicable law and, where required, happen with the knowledge and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child's data was improperly sent to iFlag, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app, in third-party services or in the law. The current version will be published on this page with the new date. If a change requires a new choice or consent, we will show the appropriate notice or control in the app.
